WFC and Brandon Mayor meets with Toronto Consul General

Mayor Jeff Fawcett and WFC chair Joseph Mamuric Jr met with Consul General Kristine Leilani Salle and Consul Katrina Borja-Martin on the sidelines of the consulate's Winnipeg outreach mission to discuss ongoing work on our sister city project, potential areas partnership between Brandon institutions and the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto, developments in the labour market and Filipino community demographics.
We thank the consulate for listening to our community's concerns and ideas and we look forward to welcoming them during the Brandon consular outreach mission later this year.

WFC held its 4th annual Philippine flag raising ceremony and launch of Filiipino heritage month in Brandon at City Hall. Joined by delagates from the city of Brandon and the province of Manitoba, members of the Filipino community, proudly hoisted the Philippine flag to mark the country's 128th anniversary since the declaration of Philippine independence from Spain.
