Philippine Consulate General visits Brandon
Philippine Consulate General visits Brandon

The Philippine Consulate General in Toronto along with representatives of the SSS (Social Security System), DMW (Department of Migrant Workers) and OWWA (Overseas Workers Welfare Admisntration) visited Brandon to conduct their consular outreach mission.
The consulate also met with Mayor Jeff Fawcett and Minister Glen Simard to discuss future areas of collaboration between the consulate and the city. GCash was also represented in the event to reach out to Filipinos and promote the laucnh of its services in Canada.
On September 10, 2026, the consulate held a townhall meeting with the community to discuss current issues, consular services, and other concerns of the local Filipino community.

WFC held its 4th annual Philippine flag raising ceremony and launch of Filiipino heritage month in Brandon at City Hall. Joined by delagates from the city of Brandon and the province of Manitoba, members of the Filipino community, proudly hoisted the Philippine flag to mark the country's 128th anniversary since the declaration of Philippine independence from Spain.
